Los Angeles: Emmy-winning actor-writer Richard Gadd, best known for creating and starring in the acclaimed shows ‘Baby Reindeer’ and ‘Half Man’, has joined the cast of ‘Rode to Ruin’, a Western thriller directed by Hollywood star Michael Keaton.
The film, which is currently in production in Santa Fe, New Mexico, also stars Keaton alongside Oscar winners Morgan Freeman and Laura Linney.
Also joining the cast are multi-Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated actor Bill Camp and Oscar-nominated filmmaker and actor Ray McKinnon, alongside Chris Candy, Travis Hammer, Thom Rivera and Derek Hinkey, Variety reported.
The story follows a retired US Marshal whose four-decade search for his wife's killer leads him to an ageing outlaw losing his memory and a buried truth that could prove fatal for both men, according to the film's synopsis.
Gadd will play Clive McKinney, the young, dangerous and charismatic leader of an outlaw gang searching the territory for a rumoured fortune and the man who destroyed his family.
Producer Lori McCreary praised the new additions to the cast, saying the actors bring distinct qualities to their performances.
"Richard, Ray and Bill are the kind of actors who make every scene better simply by being in it," McCreary said.
"They each bring such specificity, humanity and truth to their work, and seeing them alongside Michael, Morgan and Laura is incredibly exciting. Avy Kaufman has helped us make this cast something very special," she added.
‘Rode to Ruin’ is produced by McCreary, Keaton, Kelly Mendelsohn, Gary Lucchesi and Richard Gray for Freeman and McCreary's Revelations Entertainment and Keaton's George and Leona Productions.
